GGP is an international research programme launched by the United Nations (UNECE - PAU) in 2000. At present, GGS data are available for 11 countries:

Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute) is responsible for the international coordination of these GGS data. The coordination of the contextual database is carried out by the Laboratory of Population and Policy of the Max
Planck Institute for Demographic Research.
